Our storytelling event celebrates the beauty of queerness and centers the voices of our QTBIPOC community. We aim to explore, through shared stories, the magic and power of queerness, and how it is a desirable outcome to be queer. One goal is to shift the narrative from dominant culture and define queerness as sacred energy to explore, rather than one to oppress and fear. The event will feature community members and special guest, Shuina Sko (Two-Spirit, Klamath Tribe), who will each share their personal experiences related to this theme; in whatever way they see fit.

Sharing narratives of lived experience is often an avenue of collective healing and liberation. We endeavor to support a sense of belonging in our community, and we intend that it will be the first of many such events.

At Once a Time, we are centering Queerness. If you identify as Queer or want to move towards Queerness in yourself and/or in community, you are welcome here. Queerness benefits everyone, and our events are designed to reflect this belief. This is why, at its center, this is a space for Queer folks--in our multitudes--to have room

to breathe, play, and liberate. We kindly ask all attendees to approach our events with a curious mind. If you do not identify as Queer, we ask you to actively use your presence to center, support, celebrate, and uplift Queerness.

We understand that everyone's experience of safety is different. Therefore, we acknowledge that claiming a space as ‘safe’ can potentially cause harm. We are striving to create safer spaces, as such, all forms of oppressive behavior, such as cultural appropriation, racism, xenophobia, misogyny, fatphobia, transphobia, homophobia, and ableism, will not be tolerated.

The venue is single story, street level, double doors with ramp access. We are happy to accommodate any ability as needed. Please be in touch.
