BEND's favorite scavenger hunt is back to kick off Summer 2024!

Grab your crew and hit the streets of Central Oregon to solve clues and challenges in the Scout Ultimate Scavenger Hunt! Once again, Source Weekly is partnering with Ultimate Scavenger to bring you an epic scavenger hunt.

Decipher the clues, send your photos, and win awesome prizes. This is a city-wide scavenger hunt for everyone to discover the best of Bend in this interactive adventure. Sign up for a team of 4 or go solo. We will have prizes for the fastest teams, the best outfits, team names, and more!

FAQs for the Scout Ultimate Scavenger 2024

Q: What type of prizes can we win?

A: The first individual or team to complete the Scavenger Hunt receives the biggest prize of course! However, we will also have prizes for the best team name, best photos/videos, and the silliest pics.

ALL participants who complete the hunt will receive prizes ranging from tickets to local events, free drinks, swag from local businesses and more! 

Q: Do I have to be a certain age to sign up?

A: The race is very kid friendly and family fun! However, a parent or guardian must accompany participants under 18.

Q: When will I know what destinations I need to find?

A: You will receive an email at exactly 10am on the morning of race day. It will contain a mixture of written and photo clues. Check to make sure you have given us a correct email address and CHECK YOUR SPAM just in case!

Q: Will any of the landmarks be outside of the city limits?

A: No, all destinations are inside the city limits of Bend.

Q: Will we be given a map to tell us where the destinations are located?

A: And take away the challenge? No way! Many of the spots are well known. There will be some tougher ones, but in today’s information age you should be able to find them. We also encourage you to ask others around town. 

Q: Do ALL team members need to be in the photos? What if we can’t fit? Someone must take the picture.

A: ALL members in your group must be in the picture or video, no exceptions. You will need to find a way to fit yourselves in the picture. Take more than one photo if necessary or buy yourself a selfie stick. This is one reason why the groups are limited to only four people.

Q: This sounds like so much fun! If we don’t win this year, will we have another opportunity in the future?

A: Absolutely! This is an annual event that teaches participants about their city while having an awesome time and an unforgettable experience. We will have another citywide hunt with new prizes and different destinations next year. And, as long as you are on our mailing list, you will be the first to know about it!
