Ellipse Theatre Community

The mission of Ellipse Theatre Community is to build a supportive and artistically aware community through the performing arts and education. The vision of Ellipse Theatre Community (ETC) is to dynamically create community through entertainment, education, and diverse perspectives for cultural enlightenment. We strive and will encourage all to lead, create, and learn from our core values of Collaboration, Outreach, Relevance, and Excellence. With these as our foundation, we intend to create quality theatre for an inspired and evolving community - “one stage at a time.” ETC is a proud 501(c)(3) non-profit.

Ellipse Theatre Community

Ellipse Theatre Community was incorporated in 2020 and received its 501(c)3 non-profit status in May of 2021. While we were able to produce some virtual performance opportunities over 2020-21, due to the COVID pandemic our first live performances were delayed to early 2022. But since then, we’ve moved forward with developing dynamic, compelling and excellent performances that have received rave reviews.

Ellipse Theatre Community currently has two performance programs:

  • The ETC Roadshow which piloted in February 2022 is a program designed make live theatre accessible to diverse audiences through performances at different venues throughout Central Oregon. The goal is to create high quality productions that are highly mobile and adaptable to a variety of performance spaces, from library conference rooms to community centers to traditional stage spaces as available in different communities across Central OR. We strive to identify productions that provide participation opportunities to the Central Oregon performing arts resources, with focus on promoting diversity across age, race/ethnicity, gender, etc.
  • The ETC Immersive Theatre Experience is a program that seeks to provide the audience and creative team an experience that goes beyond the production through various immersive programs to cultivate understanding, connection, and conversation. The ideal production will be one that focuses on a relevant issue(s) or theme that can yield itself to additional programing and collaboration with local organizations, community groups, and individuals. Past successful programs in conjunction with an Immersive Production have been Panel Discussions, talk-back series with cast and creative team, visual art gallery, donation drives, and more. It is key that all programing aligns with the theme/story/issue the play presents.

At ETC, we believe in the power of artistic education and experience. Our Workshop offerings seek to collaborate with professional guest artists, recurring classes, special programs, and more in order to expose our community to a variety of creative art forms, foster the growth and talent of current artists in our community, and inspire a whole new generation.
